Generous donations to the Worcester State Fund accomplish so much each year. These are just a few examples of how your support improved the experience of our student experiece at Worcester State University during the 2012-2013 academic year:
- Nineteen new funds were established this past year, including new scholarships and academic achievement awards, an internship program fund, and a number of grant-specific funds supporting academic endeavors.
- The Worcester State Foundation added 12 new scholarships. Opportunities ranging from support for students in the Visual and Performing Arts Programs to single mothers working their way through the University. The breadth and depth of our scholarship offerings continue to increase along with the needs from our students.
- A Student Emergency Fund, inititated by students and supported by alumni, parents and friends, granted $4,066 to students in need. By covering expenses such as the puchasing of textbooks, food, living expenses and transportation costs, these emergency funds heped students at risk from dropping out by allowing them to continue with their studies.
Gifts of any size to the Worcester State Fund expand scholarships, scholarly research grants, and academic enrichment initiatives. By providing these opportunities to our students we ensure that when they graduate, they will have the competitive edge they need to succeed.
